MainStreet BankShares, Inc., Martinsville, Virginia and Franklin Community Bank, N.A., Rocky Mount, Virginia, in the Smith Mountain Lake marketplace, are looking for the following executive position.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Franklin Community Bank, N.A. is seeking a seasoned President and Chief Executive Officer to direct and establish the major goals and objectives of the organization as approved by the Board of Directors. This Executive level position would provide leadership, direction and guidance of the organization’s activities in achieving its goals and objectives. The candidate should possess an overall knowledge of the operations of a community bank and be able to oversee the various functions. He/she would represent the Company to regulatory agencies, trade associations, community and civic organizations, clients and other financial institutions. The candidate must have a proven track record of leadership and the ability to motivate and direct staff. He/she would establish policies and procedures to provide the Board of Directors with administration and support that allows the Board to be informed and in a position to exercise its independent fiduciary responsibility. The Executive is expected to have a thorough knowledge of federal and state banking laws. He/she must possess strong lending skills, particularly in the commercial area, and oversee the effectiveness of the lending function to minimize risk to the organization. The President/CEO will maintain a loan portfolio. The candidate will oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services to allow the organization to achieve its annual and long term goals and objectives. He/she will provide leadership in key community activities, including business, charitable, civic and social organizations and ensure participation of staff members in civic activities.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting or economics; graduate banking school degree preferred; and a formal credit training background along with the service skills sets of a Community Banker. He/she must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
